A survey commissioned by Denplan suggests children in the UK will receive up to ten percent less reward money for their teeth, as the credit crunch forces even the tooth fairy to tighten her purse strings.

"The Tooth Fairy is an age-old tradition that aims to reward children for taking good care of their milk teeth," Denplan managing director Steve Gates said, adding that he hopes that the tooth fairy will offer alternative incentives for children to care for their teeth.
